SoCal baby’s 1st birthday celebration made special by local Pop Warner football team

The family of a baby who just turned one had a surprise in store for them during their football-themed party for the little one.

As they were celebrating baby Grayson’s “First Year Down” party in Redondo Beach, the family noticed something else happening nearby: a photoshoot.

But it wasn’t just any photoshoot: it was for the Pop Warner Beach Cities Sharks, a local youth football team.

The players and coaches took notice of the football-themed festivities, and according to Grayson’s father Bryan Henry, that’s when he asked if his one-year-old could be included.
Of course, the team was happy to oblige, posing for a pic and even chanting “Grayson! Grayson!”

“The result was a one-of-a-kind memory: a newly minted one-year-old in his football-themed outfit, surrounded by the hometown team that inspires so many local kids,” said Bryan Henry. “It was the perfect mix of family, community, and football — showing the kind of neighborly kindness that makes Redondo Beach such a special place to live.”
Henry sent photos of Grayson and the team , also including a photo of Grayson after he enjoyed some cake, as evidenced by all the chocolate on his face and hands. Another photo sent to shows the toddler with his mother, Elizabeth, alongside her husband.

“We just wanted to thank the local team for such a special moment,” Bryan Henry said. “[This was] a feel-good moment that reminds us all of the power of community.”
